A young buck visits
at night.
Another year and he should be ready for Santa's sleigh! |
| |
 |
A doe visits on another
evening.
As the weather chills, it's mating season for the deer. Something
that is probably on the mind of the young buck above. |
| |
 |
Another beautiful
doe.
We will occasionally see deer during the day but most of the
activity occurs during the night. |
| |
 |
A young coyote.
Ever alert, this coyote can take off fast if it has to, running
at speeds of more than 30 mph!
|
|
 |
Wild Turkeys.
Usually shy, these hens wandered right up to the kennels. |
| |
 |
A group of turkeys
is called a "rafter".
Only three this day, many times we'll have over a dozen visiting.
Oddly, around Thanksgiving they disappear! |
| |
 |
We have a lot of hummingbirds
from spring through fall.
They return each year and expect to have the feeder up and filled.
They can be a little pushy!. |
| |
 |
Coyotes visit often.
Maine has a larger coyote population than many realize. |
